i didn’t expect to get in on the first try, or at least not that major ;A;
i think i spent a total of 4 months on my portfolio not knowing what i was doing;; that was pretty reckless.
now i know how everyone felt last year when they got their own letters and i was just sitting with mines feeling apathetic.

quitting piano was a shitty experience because of how much i put into it already + i felt like i was betraying all the teachers that were giving me their all. they were like family to me.
music was the absolute center of my life for 15 years WHICH IS A BIG DEAL because i'm only 18 and 15 is a long time for me. i pretty much lived under a rock for all those years, and knew nothing asides from anything music related. classical music related. this whole thing felt like a divorce...a messy one.
...with kids involved. 

cramming in what should be at least a year's worth of work into 4 months was both a humbling and stressful experience. i went from being damn good at what i did to being the shittiest of the shit no matter what kind of class i went to or what forum i posted in. taking a giant leap of faith from an otherwise cushy and well-lit path was probably not the smartest idea, but i never regretted it once.

everyone on dA and tumblr have also been so awesome! so thank you to everyone who has asked, commented, or just simply viewed my stuff. a lot of your feedback left on tumblr makes my week...and sometimes, that's exactly what i needed to pull myself together again.
